
Tanks hung with care in hopes the next trip will soon be here.
A quick look at hanging the Class A Undermount 20 gallon water tank.
This particular tank fits between the crossmembers and does not hang below the level of the axle, no loss of ground clearance. Figure 1
Used some 2" x 1/8" steel flat bar bent in my metal brake to make the brackets. Figure 3
Used garage door rubber seal on the metal to add a little extra protection. Figure 4
Placed 3/4" OSB to fill the lip on the cross members for a flush surface and to protect the tank from the floor screws (see Figure 5). Your steel may be different, but filling this gap is important to prevent the tank and insulation from rubbing against the edge of the steel. Figure 5
We use carriage bolts on the brackets so there are no sharp or rough edges against the tank. Figure 8
Wrapped the tank with 6MM Reflective Insulation, 2 wraps around the tank and it fit snugly between the crossmembers.
All that is left is to finish the plumbing and she is ready for the next great adventure. Figure 7
