Staying Connected
Some things to consider when you need to stay connected in your CTC
WeBoost Cellular Reinforcement:
Have used our WeBoost Drive Reach Unit for a few years now and have been very pleased with the system.
The biggest advantage of the WeBoost over the Starlink, no monthly cost to use with your cellphone as a WiFi hot spot.
The one drawback is the need for some cellular signal, so if camping where your phone cannot receive a cellular signal, the WeBoost will not help.
How does the WeBoost setup affect the real world connection speedtests between no boost and having the unit on inside our CTC.
The pictures show outside the CTC, and inside both on and off with the phone secured in the same location for all indoor tests.
As you can see, the Weboost unit provides a significant boost in download speed.

Starlink
How does the StarLink setup affect the real world connection speedtests between outside and inside our CTC.
The biggest advantage of the Starlink over the WeBoost, no cellular signal is required.
The one drawback is the monthly subscription. Fortunately with the Mini you can pause your service during the off season. What we found is when we went to pause our service, Starlink offered a low cost alternative to the $50/mo., instead of pausing you can choose a $10/mo plan that offers 10Gb download which is the way we decided to go since we travel frequently.
We now use the StarLink Mini in our truck even when we are not taking the trailer on a road trip.
We typically only use about 4-5 Gb on a 4 day trip, with the primary use for navigation and staying connected for business emails and Teams meetings if needed.
The pictures show the speedtests from outside the CTC, and inside without any other boosters.
As you can see, the StarLink unit penetrates the CTC and provides a decent signal inside.

We used 2 different test platforms and as you can see they are significantly different, which I why we posted both for comparison.
The blue background results are from the Oookla Speedtest App which anyone may download or find online for testing your connection.
The black background results are from an app we use specifically for network testing.
These tests are meant to illustrate the difference Outdoor vs Indoor, and not to compare Cellular vs Starlink.
If you have no cell signal outdoor you can still have Starlink both outdoor and Indoor.
